Trip to Mallam Jabba, Swat Valley, Pakistan

 

Swat Valley is full of fascinating landscapes, crystal white waters and mesmerizing flora and fauna. It is located in the northern regions of Pakistan. If you are low on Cash but craving to respond to the call of mountains then it is the best ideal choice to visit. We visited Mallam Jabba in January 2019 and it was memorable trip of my life. Now i am going to share info about my experience of the trip alongwith some useful information.

Traveling to Swat

Most of the route (around 80%) is covered on the stout and study roads of Motorway. Small and light vehicles Such as Vitz can easily reach upto Madyan. However, to reach Mallam Jabba, it is recommended to buy chains (snowy weather) from locals when 8Kms distance to Samson resort is left. Otherwise you will face a lot of danger because of slippery snowy roads. Overall the road journey is safe and economical. 35KM road track Mallam Jabba is under construction with proper water ways in March, 2019 with expected to be completed this year. 

Budget for Food

First thing to consider if you are traveling with kids is to keep enough food supplies with you to avoid time and struggle in handling kids. Also rates get non-negotiable in such areas if the choices are very few. However, the taste of Trout Fish is a must eat in Swat. It is cooked in Traditional Swatian herbs and is delectable to the taste buds. Another awesome treat of local food is the pure Honey of Mingora, Swat.

Lodgeing

Reasonable and humble lodgeing which are suitable for temporary stay are available in all season. There are motels and hotels of varying comport and rents all along the way. Winter is an off season and most of the hotels entertain walk in bookings. In Summers it is better to book before hand.
We stayed at 11 Corps Guest Houses which were very comfortable and lovely place to stay. Its just 15 min walk from the Main Ski Resort. Highlights of Our Stay is shown in Pics below:

Historical Places

Udyana (The Garden) is also in SWAT valley which is very well known to Ancient Chinese Pilgrims. Swat has a rich heritage of artifacts and culture. As per history, this Valley area had been visited by Ashoka, Alexander, Gautamma Buddhe amd Mahmood Ghaznavi. A lot of Stupas, Ancient Mosques, Rock Art and Buddhist Carvings are present throughout the Valley. Swat is an open museum sharing the time and space with multiple civilisations since Bronze Age.

Skiing and Snow Fun

In the Winters, Mallam Jabba is idea for skiing and snow riding. The Entry tickets are nominal. For Skiing, you need to buy or rent the Skiing equipment. The rent is about PKR 200. Apart from thorough skiing, one can enjoy following activities there:

• Beginner's Skiing lessons
• Tire Tube Ride
• Rolling Ball Fun
• Ice Skating Arena
• Chair Lift
• Top Of Hill scenic views
• Horse Rides

The Tires for snow riding are rented for as low as PKR 50 per slide or PKR 200 per 20 min.

Two newly constructed slides are made for awesome Tire Ride Fun which is safe and full of excitement.

Rolling Ball ride is now available at the price of PRK 100 per Ride. In This, You are entered in big transparent ball and safety belts are tied around you. Than you will be rolled down in ball on slide to enjoy the Fun of rolling down while inside the Ball.

The Horse rides are fun in the valley costing only PKR 50 to PKR 200.

Chair Lifts at Mallam Jabba

 

Chairlifts in swat are available in Mallam Jabba Ski Resort. It cost around PKR 400 per person. Even if you are not interested in Skiing, you can enjoy the Chair Lifts. The view from Chair lifts are awesome and you will admire the beauty of the place. Whole Mallam Jabba Valley beauty can be seen from it. Light Music is played in background which adds up to the whole scenic chairlift journey. On top of the hill, Few tea stalls are available where you can sit and enjoy the cup of Tea or Coffee with light snacks ( All at Governemnt controlled Rates). The view from the top is splendid and its the best moment to remember.
