Whenever a traveler starts to decide for another trip broad, the frist thing that struck his mind is, "What are the visa requirements?". Sp, After resolving all flight details and hotel booking queries as a pakistani Tourist, I thought i should decode the whole process of Turkish Visa Application in a simple guide for all my Pakistani people.
Types of Pakistani Passports
- Official Passport Holders:
- Ordinary Passport Holders:
Government employees who travel abroad for government missions
possess an OFFICIAL PASSPORT. These include ambassadors, councils etc.
Those who hold an official passport can travel to Turkey visa-free for
up to 90 days.
If you don’t have an official passport then by default you possess an ORDINARY PASSPORT. Ordinary passport holders must apply for a Turkish
visa before visiting Turkey. Also, those travelers who possess an
ordinary passport but also have a valid residence permit for USA, UK,
Ireland or Schengen may gain one month single entry e-visas online at
www.evisa.gov.tr
Simply, All ordinary passport holders must
apply for a Turkish visa either though Dropbox facility or by directly visiting embassy. This will take approximately 1 week to 1 month. So
start the procedure well in advance to overcome any unforeseen
processing delays.
APPLYING FOR TURKEY E-VISA
What is an E-Visa?
Electronic or E-visas are issued by Turkish embassies to make the
issuance process faster and more convenient for prospective visitors.
Applicants must first enter all required information and submit their
visa application fee online through credit/debit cards. Their
application is then processed. If approved, their visas are
electronically sent to them.
Validity of an E-VisaYour Turkish E-Visa would be valid for a period of 180 days/6 months and a single trip must not exceed 30 days.
Application Procedure and Documents Required
To apply for an E-visa you must fulfill all the below mentioned requirements:
- Your must be traveling for the purpose of Tourism/Business
- You can prove that you possess a return flight ticket, hotel reservation and at least 50$ per day for the duration of your stay.
- You have a valid supporting document. This may be a valid visa or valid residence permit from one of the Schengen Countries -USA, UK or Ireland. E-visas may not be accepted as supporting documents.
- Your passport covers the complete period you intend to be staying in Turkey.
How much does an E-Visa cost? A single-entry visa free to Turkey will cost approximately 60 USD, which is currently equivalent to PKR 8,500/-. This payment must be made through Visa/Mastercard//Union Credit or Debit cards.
How to get Started?
Step 1: Visit https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/ to start the application process.
Step 2: Click on ‘Apply Now’ to begin your
application. Enter your nationality and the travel document you
currently possess and wish to travel with. Enter the captcha code and
proceed to the next step.
Step 3: Enter the date on which you intend to travel
to Turkey and closely note the information provided. The cost of an
E-Visa, its validity, and method of fee payment is all provided on this
page.
Step 4: Enter your personal information. All the fields are compulsory to fill.
Step 5: Once you finish adding your personal data, a
screen will pop up that summarizes the information provided. Take a
minute to review it or request someone else to cross-check it for you.
This your final chance to edit out any mistakes. If everything looks
good, click on the ‘Verify’ button.
Step 6: By this step your application has been
submitted. You must now login to the email account you provided and
verify that it is you who have applied. Be sure to check your spam
folder if the email doesn’t show up in your inbox.
Step 7: Once you have verified your email account
you must now proceed to the payment page. This fee must be paid online
through Visa/Mastercard/Union Credit or Debit cards.
Step 8: Once your payment is made you will get a
notification that your e-visa is emailed to you. Don’t wait for the
email, just download your e-visa from the ‘Download your E-Visa’ button
on the current page. Make sure to keep it in a secure folder and get a
hard copy of the document for added convenience.
If you intend to travel to Turkey for work or education then you must apply for a regular Turkish visa from your local embassy.
Below are the points that can be helpful for you while proceeding with your Turkish Visa:
APPLYING FOR NORMAL TURKEY VISA
(For Pakistani Citizens): In case you guys don’t have valid visa’s of USA, UK, Schengen or Ireland then you have to apply to Turkish Embassy through GERRY’s Pakistan drop box visa service. You must apply for visa atleast 2 ~ 3 weeks before your actual travel to turkey. Gerry’s takes 2500 Rs other than Visa fee to provide their services.Below are the points that can be helpful for you while proceeding with your Turkish Visa:
- Get the visa form from the link https://www.konsolosluk.gov.tr/ (Direct Download Link). Fill the form, add complete details about the applicant and the host (if any), provide accurate and complete address and dully sign the application form.
- Along with the application form, attach copies of passport previewing (showing)1st and 2nd page of the passport and along with all the used pages that show the visa entry or exit stamps from the past.
- Attach two recent photographs and other travel documents with the application, if any. Make sure that all these documents have a validity of a minimum of 180 days
- When you are applying from Pakistan you need to present your Pakistani National Identity Card with the form
- A copy of flight reservation, a copy of hotel accommodation or any place where you will be staying
- Original and signed cover letter of the person who is applying for the visa that clearly states the following; employer name, positions, employee name, duration of employment, contact number and address (this is applicable if the visa holder is a current employee at any firm)
- Your cover letter must also state the duration and purpose of visit to Turkey
- A government employee must attach an EX Pakistan leave or a valid NOC from the department they are working for
- If applicant is a student he/she needs to provide a signed letter from their relevant college/university
- Document supporting personal income which is simply called as a bank statement. You need to attach an original bank statement showing sufficient amount of money in your bank, for a minimum of three months. You may also need to present three salary slips, the National Tax Number and the proof of the tax payment (when and if required)
- Original of the travel medical insurance policy must also be attached. Make sure that your policy is covering you for the entire period of your stay in Turkey
- If you are travelling with your family, you need to provide and MRC (in another case it is not necessary)
- If the traveler is under 18 years of age or travelling with one of the parents, he/she needs to have the written consent of other parent before proceeding
- Student travelling alone will have to share the written consent of both the parents before getting on-board. They will need to attach the CNIC of both the parents with the application
- There are some health-related documents that you need to provide with the visa application. These documents include the following:
- Valid polio vaccination certification from a registered government organization
- A signed health fitness certificate from the registered medical institution
These documents are necessary but there are chances that the embassy may ask you for additional documents to process your visa.
